There must be a secret to a long climbing life. What stops our climbing years? Injury.
So if we avoid injury can we climb for longer in life? Seems plausible.
I remember Ben Moon saying always finish a session feeling strong.
I get it… well I took something from what he way saying.
Injury often happens when we feel strong. Cranking in super strong sessions can make use feel invincible, wile our tuned up bodies tip toe along the fringes of injury. Don’t go to the death. Step off the wall, let go of the board before max is hit.
So even if you have only been at the gym for 10 minutes and you are feeling super strong, maybe that’s the time to pack your bags and leave?
Climbing is a long game. Could we play the game for longer if we stop at 80%? Session after session.
Stop at 80%. The 80% rule. I like it. I bet we would all get stronger too!…in the long run.
